5 Rug Style Trends We Love in 2023 to Elevate Interior Design

Looking to find your footing when it comes to home design? Rugs are one of our go-to pieces to ground and define an interior. Whether you’re wanting to connect or divide a space, rugs are great for adding intention and warmth to your home. Keep reading for a look at five rugs we recently styled in our interior design projects!

Geometric Rugs Make a Statement

An entryway is where first impressions are made, so it’s important that it sets the tone for the rest of the home. Combining modern and Moroccan, this geometric rug’s pop of pattern is the perfect way to draw guests into our Montevista Project.

We know how intimidating prints can be for homeowners, but oftentimes pattern is just what the interior needs to make a memorable statement. Featuring the same black and ivory tones found in nearby details, this geometric rug added a beautiful and balanced feel to our project’s entryway.

Bonus: the durable weave made it an ideal piece for a high-traffic space like this one!

Solid Rugs Can be Stylish without Being Boring

We’re all about incorporating color and pattern in an approachable way, like we did in our 83rd Place project. In a neutral interior like this one, a rug with a pop of color is great to style alongside quieter elements as it keeps the design interesting and eclectic without going over the top. The over-tufted dot design also adds a subtle and intriguing texture to the space. Who said solids have to be boring?

Hide Rugs are Not Going Out Style

When it came to adding sophistication and comfort to our Calle de Pompas Project, we looked no further than this cowhide rug. Its organic shape was a beautiful complement to the dining space’s small circular table. The rug’s natural texture and dark tones also added a warm and masculine touch to the interior.

Elegant Black and White Rugs are Always a Good Idea

High-contrast and high-impact color palettes are our love language, so it’s no wonder why this black and white rug was love at first sight for us. Its sleek and elegant colorway is just what our Silverleaf project’s entryway needed to draw guests in.

How to Style with a Jute Rug

We love combining chic, contemporary style with relaxed, approachable comfort. That’s why in our Ironwood Project’s primary bathroom, our goal was to create a serene, organic feel with touches of glam throughout. This textured jute rug gave us the best of both worlds! Its high contrast made a statement, while its natural texture kept the space feeling simple and grounded.

Stylish Decorative Office Cabinet Designs

As the owner of a local real estate brokerage, the client from our Monte Lindo Project needed a dedicated space to dive into his craft in the comfort of his own home. Because we recognize how important it is to be inspired by the interiors around you, we filled the home office with masculine elements like this stunning iron cabinet with an antique gunmetal finish. The glass doors made it perfect for displaying timeless home decor and treasured items.

Functional Arched Metal Cabinet

We love incorporating unique shapes into our clients’ interior design projects for added interest. This metal cabinet’s arched structure and stark contrast was the perfect design statement to include in our Fanfol Project’s mid-century modern home.

Rattan Cabinets are Perfect for Storage and Staging

Here’s a statement piece you’re going to want to weave into your interiors ASAP! In our Montevista Project, we incorporated a large rattan cabinet to serve as the focal point for this room. The near-opaque cabinet doors made it the perfect space for hiding not-so-glamourous household goods. Plus, our clients couldn’t get enough of the soft, textural twist this modern piece added to the room!

How To Pick The Right Dining Table . Paradise Valley . Interior Design

How To Pick The Right Dining Table . Paradise Valley . Interior Design

Picking the right dining table to be both beautiful + functional in your home is paramount. That right balance between beauty and function is what will make your space work for the unique demands of your busy family and will also make your guests oh and aw when they come over for supper.

We love the juxtaposition of using chairs in one fabric and a table made from something completely different. No matching sets for us! We like to keep things interesting and mix + match. Here we used a durable velvet chair with a live edge walnut table that we had sealed for durability.

Always look for interesting detail on your kitchen table. This is likely one of the largest pieces in your home and you want it to make a statement. We fell in love with the unique stacked wood legs on this table + the contracting lacquered top.

Don’t be afraid to mix and match different tones of wood. We love how these lighter wood chairs contrast with the darker dining table. The contract makes your room feel collected and cozier.

Know your family! If you have young kiddos, don’t purchase a table that doesn’t hold up well to spills and grimy hands hoping that your children will miraculously be able to live with it. It is going to drive you crazy! There are so many kid-friendly options these days. Choose something that is both beautiful but that will also withstand the test of time for your family and ultimately make your life easier.

When I first connected with this client, I knew it would be a special project! We had so many similarities including her kids going to summer camp in Malibu where I grew up going to summer camp! The family was relocating to Scottsdale for her husband’s job and aside from one meeting together at the new home, the entire design, presentation, and approval process would be done remotely.

The entire home was beautiful, to begin with, but it was a completely different style, very contemporary + cold and not what my clients wanted. They wanted to create a modern home with touches of soft contemporary + ensure it was approachable + a place where they could entertain family and friends for years to come. They were not afraid of color which was music to my ears! They trusted me throughout the entire process and stepped outside their comfort zone which resulted in a magnificent result. The house is a showstopper!
