After living in this beautiful Scottsdale home for several years, our clients wanted to bring a more unique, contemporary feel to their spaces through a complete remodel. Read on for a first glimpse inside our latest Scottsdale interior design project, Hidden Hills!
To best serve the needs of this family, we added luxury vinyl flooring with a white oak finish throughout the home as it is extremely durable. Its resistance to stains, bacteria, water, and mold make it the perfect option for clients with pets or children.
To make the warm woods and furniture in the home really pop, we painted all of the walls and baseboards a beautiful white shade called Chantilly Lace. In the entryway, it’s a beautiful and bright contrast to the cane console table, ceramic lamp, and handmade art.
In the family room, we added rift cut white oak cabinets and floating shelves styled with some of our favorite accessories. Adjacent to the shelves, we added a custom cement fluted fireplace as the focal point for the space. We love how this piece balances both statement and subtle!
We pride ourselves on creating designs that are personalized just for our clients. To fit the scale of their large family room, we added two custom sofas: one leather and one in a white performance, linen-like fabric.
The two sofa styles surround a black marble console table and two accent chairs. To draw the eye upward, we hung a beautiful brass chandelier, which is a metal found in various accents throughout the home.
To open the family room up to the backyard, we replaced windows with a 20-foot, sliding door. We love how this detail brought the sunlight and nearby mountain views in!
We encourage clients to step out of their comfort zones by being brave and bold with their style, but in an approachable, fun, empowering way. In this project’s powder bathroom, we added a fun cement tile with an abstract graphic print.
Complementing the black and white tones found in the pattern, we added black mirror and a vanity made of black metal and a marble top. Lastly, for a pop of color, we added a beautiful sage green grass cloth wallpaper.

6 Popular Modern Pendants You’ll Want To Light Up Your Space With
Thoughtfully selecting show-stopping luxury pieces that embody our clients’ personality is one of our favorite parts of the design process. One interior design trend that we always feature in our projects is statement modern pendants.
Pendants provide functional lighting and increase the uniqueness of a room by enhancing complementary finishes, textures, and colors featured in nearby accents. Read on to discover various pendants we’ve incorporated into recent client projects!
Cement Pendants Offer a Subtle Touch of Rawness to Your Space
While most can only imagine concrete lighting in an industrial style home, they actually pair well with a modern setting. Cement pendants add a subtle touch of texture and rawness to your space, creating a focal point for the room.
In our Scottsdale interior design project, Ironwood Drive, we added this elegant gray pendant to make the most of this gorgeous nook in the kitchen. The effervescence, neutral hue of this cement pendant is a welcome tone to any modern and traditional home.
If you long for statement lighting, this is the pendant for you! These show-stopping brass pendants incorporated in our Scottsdale interior design project, Trailside View, bring a show-stopping appeal to the space.
The pendants’ bold brass detailing creates subtle hues throughout the kitchen. We love how the modern, linear lines balance with banding across the diameter of the light. Caged in the center are six candelabra sockets to offset lots of light into the kitchen.
For a subtle pop of texture, consider adding linen pendants to your space. In our Scottsdale interior design project, Hidden Hills, we added white linen Heloise Pendants to create a balance between modern and traditional elements. The iron detail on the bottom of the shade creates a beautiful lightscape that elevates the kitchen. The balance between neutrals and quieter elements in this space keeps things classy and elegant!
Glass Pendants Add a Satisfying Blend of Form and Function
We can’t get over this elegant glass pendant! This light fixture creates a warm glow and a satisfying blend of form and function in this gorgeous bathroom. This glass pendant has a minimalistic, smooth, and cylindrical shape, and the beautiful smoke glass complements a variety of environments. This magnificent pendant doubles as a work of art!
Create a Timeless Look With By Mixing Black and Brass
Mixing metals creates a gorgeous outcome when done with a sense of purpose. Mixing warm metals with both cool and warm undertones can provide any space with a balanced feel.
In our Scottsdale interior design project, Fairway Drive, we added these mixed metal pendants to add a mid-century modern flair to the space. The black and brass pendants tied the space together gorgeously and added a unique element to elevate the kitchen.
Mini pendant lights add a sleek and clean appearance to just about any modern home. These pendant lights are ideal for modern homes because they combine elegance with simple design. Align these mini pendants in multiples across a table, island, counter, or bar to make a dramatic design statement.

Looking to find your footing when it comes to home design? Rugs are one of our go-to pieces to ground and define an interior. Whether you’re wanting to connect or divide a space, rugs are great for adding intention and warmth to your home. Keep reading for a look at five rugs we recently styled in our interior design projects!
Geometric Rugs Make a Statement
An entryway is where first impressions are made, so it’s important that it sets the tone for the rest of the home. Combining modern and Moroccan, this geometric rug’s pop of pattern is the perfect way to draw guests into our Montevista Project.
We know how intimidating prints can be for homeowners, but oftentimes pattern is just what the interior needs to make a memorable statement. Featuring the same black and ivory tones found in nearby details, this geometric rug added a beautiful and balanced feel to our project’s entryway.
Bonus: the durable weave made it an ideal piece for a high-traffic space like this one!
Solid Rugs Can be Stylish without Being Boring
We’re all about incorporating color and pattern in an approachable way, like we did in our 83rd Place project. In a neutral interior like this one, a rug with a pop of color is great to style alongside quieter elements as it keeps the design interesting and eclectic without going over the top. The over-tufted dot design also adds a subtle and intriguing texture to the space. Who said solids have to be boring?
Hide Rugs are Not Going Out Style
When it came to adding sophistication and comfort to our Calle de Pompas Project, we looked no further than this cowhide rug. Its organic shape was a beautiful complement to the dining space’s small circular table. The rug’s natural texture and dark tones also added a warm and masculine touch to the interior.
Elegant Black and White Rugs are Always a Good Idea
High-contrast and high-impact color palettes are our love language, so it’s no wonder why this black and white rug was love at first sight for us. Its sleek and elegant colorway is just what our Silverleaf project’s entryway needed to draw guests in.
How to Style with a Jute Rug
We love combining chic, contemporary style with relaxed, approachable comfort. That’s why in our Ironwood Project’s primary bathroom, our goal was to create a serene, organic feel with touches of glam throughout. This textured jute rug gave us the best of both worlds! Its high contrast made a statement, while its natural texture kept the space feeling simple and grounded.

We often call our style eclectic because we love mixing various styles! Our goal is always to create a space that is cohesive where you cannot tell you are blending different styles.
Here are our top tips for successfully mixing different décor styles together.

Pick a few colors + focus on them
Even if you are decorating with one style, we prefer to keep colors simple! Pick one or 2 colors only per space and use them in different ways and with different textures. Layer the colors and textures to achieve an effortless look. If you are using a coffee table that has a modern feel, pick your occasional chairs in a more contemporary feel in a similar or coordinating color. Always start with neutrals and layer your color on top.

Choose an inspiration piece
Start with one item you love and repeat an element in the item but by incorporating a different style. For example, If you find a sofa you love with curved legs, incorporate more curves in the lighting, coffee table, art, etc but feel free to mix up the styles. The repetition of the element will bring it all together. Focus on about 80% of your decor being from one style and 20% being from another.

Use art to help blend styles
Adding art in a contrasting style is a great way to effortlessly start blending styles in a space and to make it look cohesive. If you have a traditional space, don’t be afraid to add a more abstract contemporary piece and visa versa.

Mix your materials
Don’t be overly concerned with being matchy! In fact, we prefer not to be! If you are using a marble table, incorporate some vintage rattan chairs or another piece with great vintage feel and texture. Just make sure that everything repeats at least once! If you incorporate marble make sure something else in the room is marble- it can even be an accessory!

What not to do
Don’t buy coordinating furniture sets
Don’t assume that you can only design your house in the style of the architecture of the home
Don’t use the same color, fabric, pattern or finish in the various pieces you chose
Don’t be afraid to take risks and think outside the box when designing your home!

A powder room can often be a forgotten space, however, it is a great opportunity to have some fun with design, adding a low commitment, whimsical or bold touch.
Here are some easy and creative ways to spruce up your powder room:
Wallpaper: Because a powder room is generally a smaller space, an investment in beautiful wallpaper is cost-effective, so splurging is a must. For example:
Our ‘Fresh, Fantastic and Fun on 1st Street’ powder room, golden-patterned wallpaper by Hygge and West adds a Hollywood Glam / Art Deco feel to a pint-sized powder room, complemented by brass accents in the light fixture and oversized, round mirror by Anthropologie.
Tiles:
Have fun with tiles! A fully tiled backsplash in unexpected colors and patterns adds a breath of fresh air to what could be an otherwise bland space. We absolutely love this Complementto bathroom with a delightful, large lilac scale pattern accented by sharp black hardware and a clean, light wood countertop.
Hardware:
Brightly colored bathroom hardware adds a quirky, retro, touch – such as these multi-colored, 1970s style faucets in a bathroom by Freunden von Freunden.

The most important thing to remember when designing or renovating a powder room is that it’s a perfect opportunity to branch out of your comfort zone, in a low stake but super impactful way! So GO FOR IT!

We can’t get enough of the remodel we did in Grayhawk and neither can you based on the responses we have has on our Instagram posts from this project!
This client is an avid baker and has a small bakery business out of her home so the kitchen was the biggest priority in the space and the rest was designed around that. She wanted to refinish her cabinets but didn’t want white so we picked a beautiful neutral gray. The backsplash + her island lighting were picked out at the very start of the project when she fell in love with them. The cement tile backsplash gives her kitchen a pop and is a strong focal point. The oversized pendant lights give the kitchen some height and interest as your eyes move up.
We chose to use a quartz countertop for its durability. You get the look of marble without the hassle of taking care of marble. It holds up to heat well + it takes the luxury feel of this kitchen up a notch.
Our client had a built-in desk and wanted to make it more unique and space she truly loved for her cookbooks and for recipe research. We added some floating shelves to display her cookbooks and we all just love how it turned out!
