Scottsdale Condo Interior Design | Modern Desert Style

Living with Lolo | Scottsdale, Arizona

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA | FULL-SERVICE DESIGN + CONSTURCTION

A modern living room with a white sofa, patterned and gray pillows, wooden coffee table, desk area with shelves, and abstract art. — Living with Lolo.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Nestled in the heart of Scottsdale, Desert Interlude is a fully furnished luxury condominium designed as a warm-weather escape for a Midwest family seeking more than just a second home. They wanted a place that felt like theirs the moment they walked in, a soft landing between Wisconsin winters, busy careers, and the kind of life that rarely slows down.

Living with Lolo was handed a blank canvas: brand new builder finishes, flat white walls, and not a single piece of furniture. Starting from scratch, our team designed, sourced, and installed every detail of this modern desert interior, from the terrace pavers to the wallpapered headboard walls in each bedroom, while managing the entire project remotely for clients based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

The result is a home that feels rooted in its surroundings. Desert-inspired pops of color echo the landscape visible through every window. Natural textures and layered neutrals create warmth without weight. And every space, from the open living and kitchen area to the fully transformed outdoor terrace, flows together as one connected rhythm designed for family visits, quiet mornings, and the occasional celebratory Old Fashioned.

This is what Living with Lolo does best: full-service interior design and light construction, managed under one roof, delivered with precision, no matter where our clients call home

Client Testimonial

“We connected with Lauren to help with our new vacation home in the Phoenix area. We live in Canada, and the thought of trying to decorate and furnish our home from such a distance, was just overwhelming. Lauren and her team worked with us via email and video conferencing. They listened very carefully, came up with a design that reflected our taste and budget. They have very professional systems in place that made the process seamless. They implemented and installed everything. The day we arrived, the house was ready to enjoy. We absolutely love it. The house looks amazing. Attention to detail on all levels. I’d highly recommend Living with Lolo. Amazing design and highly professional.”

DESIGN GOALS

Throughout our design process for Desert Interlude, we focused on transforming a brand new yet completely empty condominium into a fully realized luxury home that feels personal, warm, and effortlessly livable. Every decision was guided by the need to create a space that felt complete from day one while balancing thoughtful design, functionality, and a seamless client experience despite a compressed timeline and remote collaboration.

Lived-In From Day One: Layer warmth, texture, and personality into a blank canvas so the home feels fully realized and deeply personal upon first arrival, with no placeholder pieces or staged elements.

Deadline-Driven Without Compromise: Execute the project in strategic phases to meet a critical move-in timeline, ensuring key spaces were functional for family use while maintaining the integrity of the overall design vision.

Desert-Inspired Palette: Draw from the surrounding Scottsdale landscape, incorporating tones like terracotta, dusty sage, and muted gold to create a natural connection between the interior and the expansive outdoor views.

Indoor-Outdoor Living: Fully activate the terrace as an extension of the home through the addition of pavers, a wood accent wall, and curated furnishings, transforming it into a true outdoor living space.

Warmth Meets Understated Luxury: Create a primary suite that feels layered, inviting, and quietly luxurious through refined material choices, soft textiles, and intentional lighting.

Full-Service, Remote Execution: Manage every aspect of the project—from sourcing and logistics to installation and final styling—providing a seamless, turnkey experience for out-of-state clients without requiring their on-site involvement.

This approach reflects our commitment to delivering homes that feel complete, personal, and highly functional, designed with intention and executed with precision from start

DESIGN CHALLENGES

The primary focus of Desert Interlude was transforming a completely blank builder-grade condo into a cohesive, fully realized home under a compressed timeline, all while working with out-of-state clients. The challenge required balancing speed, precision, and design integrity to deliver a space that felt intentional, layered, and move-in ready from day one.

Deadline-Driven Sourcing: With key spaces needing to be completed ahead of a mid-October family visit, we prioritized sourcing from vendors with reliable lead times while expediting select pieces. Careful sequencing ensured the living room and bedrooms were fully installed and styled first, maintaining both timeline and design standards.

Remote Client Execution: Manage the entire project virtually through detailed presentations, clear communication, and organized specifications, allowing the clients to remain fully confident and involved without ever needing to be onsite.

Elevating Builder Finishes: Introduce architectural interest and warmth without a full renovation by layering in strategic upgrades, including terrace pavers, a custom wood accent wall, and tailored wallpaper installations throughout the bedrooms, enhancing the space while respecting timeline and budget.

Cohesive Whole-Home Vision: Design every room simultaneously while maintaining a unified aesthetic. Each space was given its own identity—from textured wall treatments to custom headboard features—while still contributing to a cohesive, intentional flow throughout the home.

Strategic Vendor Coordination: Source across a range of trusted vendors, including Moss Studios, Four Hands, Rejuvenation, and Arteriors, balancing availability, quality, and design alignment to keep the project moving efficiently.

This approach allowed Desert Interlude to come together as a fully realized, highly functional home that feels layered, personal, and seamlessly executed, proving that even the most complex timelines and remote conditions can deliver a refined, luxury result.

Before After

This once underutilized, builder-grade patio was transformed into a warm, inviting outdoor lounge grounded in texture and intentional design. The expansive, empty concrete space was redefined with layered furnishings that create intimacy and purpose, while a custom wood-paneled feature wall adds architectural depth and warmth. A low-profile seating arrangement paired with a substantial coffee table anchors the space, introducing balance and functionality, while soft textiles and neutral tones contrast beautifully against the darker structural elements. Thoughtful styling and natural materials soften the hard surfaces, resulting in a cohesive outdoor retreat that feels both elevated and comfortable for everyday living and relaxed entertaining.

What does full-service interior design include for a Scottsdale condo?

Full-service interior design at Living with Lolo means we handle everything from concept through installation. For Desert Interlude that included space planning, furniture selection and procurement across 40-plus vendors, custom wallpaper installation in multiple rooms, light construction by our in-house team including terrace pavers and a wood accent wall, styling, and final reveal. Because we hold both an interior design credential and an active Arizona Registrar of Contractors general contractor license, we can manage design and construction under one roof with one point of accountability.

How long does a full condo interior design project take in Scottsdale?

Every project is different but Desert Interlude is a useful benchmark. We took a completely empty new construction condo from blank canvas to fully furnished and finished in a timeline that prioritized a hard mid-October deadline for key spaces while completing the full project by January 2026. Timeline depends on scope, furniture lead times, and construction requirements. The best way to get an accurate estimate is to schedule a consultation so we can assess your specific project.
